Antique Japanese Stacking Tansu Chest

This elegant "chest-on-chest" is a fine example of a Japanese Kasane Tansu, a stacking clothing chest. Designed with mobility in mind—historically to be quickly moved,  it consists of two separate stacking sections that lock together. The chest features a warm, reddish-brown finish and is adorned with hand-forged bronze iron hardware. The flush-mounted rectangular handles and protective corner brackets give it that streamlined "Campaign" aesthetic while remaining distinctly Japanese in craftsmanship.
