Shipping and White Glove Delivery FAQ

How do you pack antique and vintage pieces for shipping?

We treat each antique as a one-of-a-kind piece. Smaller and mid-sized items are wrapped in soft materials (paper, bubble, foam) with extra padding at corners, carvings and scroll knobs. Fragile items are often double-boxed: a cushioned inner box placed inside a larger outer box for added protection. Boxes are clearly marked as fragile and oriented (“this side up”) where it matters.

When do you use white glove delivery instead of standard shipping?

We typically use white glove delivery for larger or heavier pieces that are difficult to move on your own—such as temple chests, altar tables, large bronzes, architectural carvings or very heavy wall pieces. Smaller items (scrolls, bowls, smaller statues and decor) usually ship via standard carriers with careful packing.

What exactly does white glove delivery include?

White glove delivery generally includes:

  • In-home delivery (not curbside) – The delivery team brings the piece inside your home, rather than leaving it at the curb or building entrance.
  • Room-of-choice placement – Within reasonable access (stairs, doorways, halls), they place the item in the room you specify.
  • Basic unpacking and debris removal – In most cases, outer packing is removed and taken away unless you ask to keep it.

This service is designed so you’re not left moving a heavy antique from the sidewalk into your space by yourself.

Does white glove delivery include installation or wall-mounting?

Usually not. White glove teams place and unpack, but they typically don’t install heavy pieces that require tools or structural work (for example, bolting into studs or mounting a large niche high on a wall). For complex installations, we recommend hiring a local professional installer who knows your walls and hardware.

Do you offer international shipping?

Many of our pieces ship directly from warehouses in Asia. For most destinations, we can arrange international shipping, but available services and delivery times vary by country and by item (especially for larger antiques). At checkout you’ll see available options for your address; for oversized or very fragile items. Worldwide shipping is free at Far East Finds. we may quote shipping and white glove delivery case by case. If you don’t see your country listed or you’re interested in a large piece, please contact us with the product link and your location so we can confirm options and estimated estimate delivery time.

Can you ship fragile scrolls and framed works safely?

Yes. Scrolls are rolled carefully, with knobs and ends cushioned so they don’t get crushed. Framed works and glazed pieces are padded on all sides, with extra protection on corners and glass, and often double-boxed. We aim for the piece that arrives to match or exceed what you saw online.

What should I do when my antique arrives?

We recommend:

  • Inspect the box before opening; if there is visible damage, photograph it before and during unpacking.
  • Open carefully and keep the packing until you’re sure you’re happy with placement.
  • Lift from strong structural points (base, main body), not from delicate arms, handles or protruding details.

If anything looks concerning on arrival, contact us with photos as soon as possible so we can help, info@fareastfinds.com.
