This 9" Tibetan Temple Collection statue portrays Garuda Dhwaja in a richly symbolic, temple-inspired form. Cast in old bronze and finished with cinnabar and mud-gold accents, the figure sits upon a lotus terrace, wings and adornments suggesting poised readiness and watchful protection.
Garuda, the mythic bird-being, is associated across Himalayan and South Asian traditions with speed, clarity, and the overcoming of obstacles—especially those connected with fear, deception, or unseen forces. In its dhwaja (banner) aspect, Garuda becomes an emblem of victory over these hindrances, a standard raised for courage and liberation.
The cinnabar finish underscores the piece’s auspicious and protective qualities, while the lotus base grounds the composition in purity and awakening. The detailed carving and compact verticality make this statue particularly suited to alcoves, shelf shrines, or smaller worship halls where it can be appreciated up close.
