This pendant from the Tibetan Temple Collection is carved from an old olivary nucleus (olive pit/seed), transformed into a detailed skull “Shatuolin” head. The result is a small, hand‑sized Dharma amulet that balances intensity with quiet craftsmanship—the warm, organic material offset by the stark, contemplative imagery of the skull.
In many Buddhist and Himalayan traditions, skull imagery is not morbid, but a reminder of impermanence, courage, and the preciousness of each moment. Worn or kept close, such pieces can serve as subtle prompts to return to what truly matters; placed on an altar, they anchor practices that work directly with fear and transformation.
Because it is carved from natural seed material, this pendant has a distinct tactile quality: ridges, hollows, and grain that invite touch and make each piece unique. It can be strung onto a cord, incorporated into a mala, or rested on a small stand or dish as part of a temple‑inspired vignette.
