This 7" bronze cloisonné gourd bottle from the Tibetan Temple Collection brings together two classic auspicious symbols: the calabash (gourd) and the bat. The double‑gourd form rises elegantly from a small base, its surface decorated with enameled bats and floral patterns outlined in fine metal lines.

In Chinese symbolism, the gourd is associated with longevity, protection, and the containment of healing or blessed energy. Bats (fu) are homophones for “good fortune,” often depicted in groups or combined with other motifs to amplify auspicious meaning. Here, bat and blossom motifs scattered across the gourd suggest blessings that quietly gather and bloom within the spaces we inhabit.

The cloisonné enamel adds gentle color and light, making this bottle a natural focal point on a console, altar, or bookshelf. It can be displayed on its own or paired with other Temple Collection pieces—incense burners, guardian figures, or wealth vessels—to create a layered, story‑rich vignette.

Placement & care
Display on a stable surface where its silhouette can be appreciated in side view. Traditionally suited to living rooms, studies, or wealth‑related corners. Treat as a decorative, symbolic vessel rather than a functional bottle. Dust with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged direct sunlight to protect the enamel and patina.
