This 7" bronze cloisonné plate screen from a Tibetan temple collection is decorated with the classic Five-Bat (“Wufu”) motif encircling a longevity character. Together, they represent the Five Blessings—long life, wealth, health, virtue, and a peaceful end—traditionally offered as an honorific “reward” or congratulatory gift.
Fine cloisonné enamel work traces bats, clouds, and the central shou (longevity) emblem in metal lines before filling them with layered color. Over time, the enamel has mellowed softly and the bronze shows through at the edges, giving the piece a quietly aged, devotional character.
Mounted as a plate screen, it is meant to stand upright on a desk, altar table, cabinet, or shelf. In both home and office, it serves as an “amass wealth” and blessing ornament—small in scale but dense in auspicious meaning.
