This old brass pagoda stupa comes from a Tibetan temple collection and is richly worked in the “Thousand Buddhas” style, with countless small Buddha images arrayed around its tiers. Associated here with Ksitigarbha (Dizang) Bodhisattva—guardian of the underworld and vow-holder to assist beings in difficult realms—the stupa embodies protection, guidance, and relentless compassion.
The layered structure, crowned finial, and time-softened patina give it a strong shrine presence. Up close, the many tiny Buddha figures emerge from the surface, turning the entire object into a three-dimensional field of practice and blessing. Traces of worship hall use add to its gravity rather than detracting from it.
In a modern home, this pagoda makes a powerful altar centerpiece or console focal point, especially for those drawn to Ksitigarbha’s vow to “not attain Buddhahood until all hells are emptied.” It is also used traditionally as a town house exorcism object—anchoring spaces where protection, resolve, and steady guidance are especially valued.
